Canadian Queer+ Classical Musician Database
Every orchestra and 'classical' performance institution in Canada is grappling with how to re-centre the focus toward othered voices and take a serious look at how the system can be re-framed to better represent both the audience and musicians but also the larger communities in which they exist. I have created a resource for concert programmers to use and help in being able to find, celebrate, hire, and program Queer+ Canadians. It is called the Canadian Queer+ Classical Musician Database. It is a list of conductors, composers, and performers, who self-identify as Queer+. It also lists what province they live and work in, as well as their discipline and contact information.
